A Work Capsule Wardrobe

A Work Capsule Wardrobe
Before I started my apprenticeship I was worried that I had to change my style completely. I always dressed more casual, black jeans, sweaters, tshirts and sneakers, just the basic clothes you wear to school everyday. For work, and especially for the office I had to switch to wearing blouses, blazers, chic trousers and more presentable shoes.
I somehow managed to find a way too combine both styles, which also makes shopping and deciding on an Outfit in the morning a lot of fun!
In this post I´m gonna share with you some shops that sell a good combination of casual workwear for a reasonable price...

Reserved

My absolute favourite shop for workwear is Reserved. They have literally everything you could possibly need. Nice dresses, blazers in nearly every suitable colour, really comfortable shoes, nice blouses and skirts, but also casual shirts you could style up. I often stop by and just have a stroll through it and most of the times I find something I really like, even if it´s just a new pair of shoes or a scarf.
Low/middle prices for really nice quality.

Zara

Zara is kinda a love/hate shop for me. Sometimes they have the most beautiful things and sometimes I´m out of the shop in less than 5 minutes. I like to get my black thicker leggings, coats, suit pants and also blouses from there, everything else is more suitable for wearing in my free time or on holidays. What they are absolutely fab at though, are their bags! They have them in lovely colours and practically every size and so I do find myself buying bags that I can either wear to work or at the weekend.

TopShop

Because of their quite expensive stuff, I don´t really get a lot from TopShop, but when I decided to treat myself to a new piece I often find myself heading straight to their trouser section. their cigarette trousers are the absolute bomb! So comfortable, yet fit really tight and nicely. Apart from cigarette trousers I also like their patterned Leigh Jeans, I own one pair so far and I´m really impressed with how good the pattern stays on even though I have washed them several times already. I also own a pair of shoes and a lovely bag from there which I can both wear to work or on a casual day out.

ASOS

No matter which style you aim for, ASOS has literally everything! I don´t think I have to say much about it other than, get comfortable, stroll through their endless pages of gorgeous clothes and be ready to spend a small fortune by the end of the day haha :)

Primark

I don´t have a Primark anywhere nearby, so when I get the chance to go to one I take a bit of everything with me. My favourite things to get from Primark are blouses, dresses, bags, shoes, accessoires and tops in general. As we all know Primark is known for their very low prices and still I´m so impressed by how good the quality is! I guess at some point I´m really lucky there´s no Primark near me as I would probably spend most of my money there, haha :)

MissSelfridge

I sadly don´t own anything from MissSelfridge so far, but from what I´ve seen online and on Instagram it seems they have a wide range of chic feminine clothes, exactly my style.
When I go to London in April I´ll definitely drop by and treat myself to a nice few clothes!

Where do you get your workwear from?

The Work Makeup Edit

Heading to the office three times a week means for me to put on a natural, put together, makeup look. For that I´ve tried lots of different products until I found the perfect routine that I feel comfortable in, whether from their texture, colour and lasting power, it just needs to be a good mixture of all to make me feel good throughout the whole working day.

I put the main focus on my base, if it looks good on it´s own I´m sure to feel good and ready for the day ahead. As a primer I´m currently using the Smashbox Photofinish Primer, it´s lightweight and keeps excess oil and shine at bay. At the same time I also like to start prepping my eyes for later, using the Urban Decay Eyeprimer Potion, a dream for oily eyelids.
The foundation I trust the most at the moment is the L´Oreal Perfect Match Foundation in Rosé Vanilla. This shade is a tiny bit darker than my actual skin, but it blends in so well that you can´t really see a difference and I luckily don´t have to deal with my pale skin anymore, haha. Besides that it´s also medium coverage and doesn´t feel heavy at all. The best drugstore concealer for under the eyes is the Maybelline FIt Me Concealer, it´s just the right coverage and blends in heavenly.
Even though the foundation is already a bit of help to not make me look as pale as I actually am, I love reaching for bronzer to add that extra hint of colour. The Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzer, is my go-to, even though it´s more orange toned than what I normally go for.
To set the base I use MAC´s MSF Powder in Light Plus only(!) to set my concealer, to fix everything else I use the NYX Matte Finish Fixing Spray
It makes the complexion look so much fresher and just gives your skin a better chance to breath.
I just recently got my brows tinted at the Benefit Brow Bar so all I need to do to them is brush through them, with the Maybelline Brow Drama Tinted Brow Gel to keep my brows in place and fill in any spare areas.
At the moment I´m all about a bronzey smokey eye, to keep the smokey look at bay and make the eye look acceptable for the office rather than a night out, I use MAC´s Satin Taupe, a lovely brown shade with a grey undertone, and a large fluffy brush and blend it completely out so you really only set a small accent to your eyes.
It´s such a small step but makes a huge difference in how much effort it seems you put into your look.
Thanks to RevitaLash (full review here) my lashes actually started growing and are rather long now, so to add a bit of volume to them now I use the L´Oreal False Lash Architect Mascara.
Since I´ve already got a lot of going on, on my eyes I only like to add a hint of colour to my lips. I always switch between MAC Angel and KIKO Matte For You Lipstick in Sweety Mauve, the perfect "my lips but better" shades.

What products do you use daily?

A Week In Lipsticks #1

A Week In Lipsticks
I have a huge lipstick collection which I rarely get use of since I most of the time just stick to one lip product. To prevent that in the future, I´ve set an aim for myself to do these kind of posts more often and so I´m kind of forced to switch my lip colours throughout the week to make these posts as interesting for you as possible.
